- SPEAKING OF INDUSTRY -
Sergio Pablos, co-producer and host of the recently released Gru. My favorite villain, and Jorge Blanco, a director of Planet 51, seem to agree on an idea: we need a real industry. Is that the reason why the Spanish animation artists are recognized in American industry. "It's not bad out to gain experience, but not see it as an honor. I see it do a story about a Spanish at Pixar, but I miss the connotation of saying," if we had a good animation industry in Spain this man not would have needed to go out to work, "says Pablo. That is also what happens with Rodrigo Blaas, after collaborating on projects such as Pixar Wall-E, returned to Spain to delight in the independent short and four times winner Alma.
Pioneer would be the case for Planet 51, which, far from public support, appears to be the most expensive film in Spanish cinema it had invested 55 million euros, some of them financed through pre-sales. "We have to try that the market is real and that the productions are not only based on subsidies" White argues. In what is certain is that in the film industry, animation takes the cake as far as budgets are concerned. Within our borders there are three producers who seem to be dawning with projects that leave us well positioned:
· Kandor Moon (Málaga) have their backs creations like The Missing Lynx (2008) and The Lady and Death (2009).
· Animati Ilion Studios (Madrid): responsible for co-grossing between Spain and England Planet 51 (2009)
· Abano Producions (A Coruña): his projects are Donkey Xote (2007) and The World's Largest Flower (2007). On October 29 we are waiting on his latest movie: The army of rag (2010)

- SPANISH WAY WAS IN ANIMADRID 2010 -
And there could a chance to welcome our guest of this year: the Republic of Ireland where the history of the field of animation seems to take her off from the 70's. The first impulse seemed to come from outside the country when American Jimmy T. Murakami decided to open a studio in Dublin in the early seventies. In 1986 another American, Don Bluth, a former Disney animator who was working on his second film, In The Land (The Land Before Time, 1988), decided to move his studio in Dublin. Since 1996, thanks to The Irish Film Board, the development agency for the film industry in Ireland, there is a funding system that supports the animation and invested annually in new talent. Today the Irish film faces UK and U.S. competition, which they consider essential for the system of subsidies. Likewise we believe in the need for Irish identity in their scripts, and the foundation of a self-Irish school.
